E-commerce is booming with no indication of slowing down. In fact, Deloitte
also forecasts e-commerce sales will grow between 10.3% to 12.8% year-
of-year during the 2023-2024 holiday season. Mix in the strains of inventory
woes, labor struggles, capacity constraints, growing customer expectations,
and peak season surcharges, enterprise retailers, manufacturers and third-
party logistics (3PL) providers have a lot on their plate.
With the 2024 peak season right around the corner and code freezes in
place, supply chain strategies are mostly set in place. However, shippers
must not only ensure that day-to-day duties and fulfillment uptime are
solid, they must also pay very close attention to details and document all
significant data points during peak in order to help set themselves up with a
plan for maximum growth in the off-season.
